Christa Bleyleben, a senior partner with MassGlobal Partners LLC, brings more than 25 years of experience in building global relationships – working in executive management roles in both the public as well as private sector. MassGlobal is a strategy and tactical advisory group focused on facilitating and advancing international collaborations in science and technology, with special focus in the biotechnology and medical technology sectors. The company works with governments, universities, technology parks, trade commission’s & industry associations in key global markets, providing a broad set of services and programs aimed at strengthening clients’ knowledge and capabilities in areas such as technology transfer, commercialization issues, business development, partnering support and financing as well as providing access to university and research organizations in the U.S. Prior to joining MassGlobal Partners, Ms. Bleyleben was the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI) and President of the Massachusetts International Trade Council (MITCI), responsible to manage all international business relationships between Massachusetts and regions around the world with special focus on collaborations and partnerships. In her previous career, Ms. Bleyleben was Managing Director at Banc of America Securities LLC, responsible for a diverse portfolio of major international banking groups and supra-national organizations including relationships with the world’s top 250 financial institutions. Ms Bleyleben currently serves on the Boards of the German American Business Council (GABC) and the MIT Enterprise Forum Innovation Series. Ms. Bleyleben holds an MBA from the Vienna University of Economics & Business (Vienna, Austria).
Robert Gottlieb

Mr. Gottlieb, who is the Principal at the communications and strategy consulting firm, RMG Associates, has over 30 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries as a consultant on strategy and communications, in-house communications director, and journalist. He has substantial experience and a strong track record in work with well over 100 companies and organizations ranging from start-ups in and outside of the U.S. to multi-nationals. Mr. Gottlieb and RMG Associates bring particular expertise in corporate positioning, external and internal communications strategy, and preparation for financing and partnering. Mr. Gottlieb co-founded Feinstein Kean Healthcare (now a division of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide), a Massachusetts-based communications and business consulting firm focused exclusively on biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and related healthcare organizations. Mr. Gottlieb has served as an advisor to the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council for over 15 years. He also participates as a mentor in MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service and as a member of the Board of Directors of the New England Israel Business Council. Previously, Mr. Gottlieb directed press relations and corporate communications at Biogen Inc., during a key period that laid the foundation for the company’s turnaround. Mr. Gottlieb was executive editor of F-D-C Reports, “The Pink Sheet,” During his ten-years at “The Pink Sheet,” he covered the FDA and drug regulation, pharmaceutical business and the emergence of biotechnology as an industry. Mr. Gottlieb holds a B.A. degree from Trinity College (Connecticut).
Mark Trusheim
Founder and President, Co-Bio Consulting
Mark Trusheim is founder and President of Co-Bio Consulting, LLC as well as Executive in Residence and Visiting Scientist at the MIT Sloan School of Management and a former Special Government Employee for the FDA’s Office of the Commissioner. Mr. Trusheim is a former member of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council’s Board of Directors, which helps its over 500 members succeed in the state. In 2004 he served as the Interim President of the MBC, leading its successful legislative agenda. As an entrepreneur, he founded and was the President and CEO of Cantata Laboratories. Cantata marketed clinical diagnostics and pharmaceutical biomarker services based on its biochemical profiling platform. Prior to Cantata, Mr. Trusheim spent over 10 years at Monsanto/Pharmacia, culminating his career there as Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of Cereon Genomics, LLC. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Cereon was created in 1997 by Monsanto as part of a $500M collaboration with Millennium Pharmaceuticals. Prior to his position at Cereon, Mr. Trusheimwas responsible for Monsanto's external genomics relationships and held roles of Vice President in the Health & Wellness Sector, Marketing Director in Searle Pharmaceutical and Director in Agriculture Division Strategy. Mr. Trusheim spent the first half of his career in the high tech industry working at both Wang Laboratories in computer hardware and the start-up Kenan Systems Corporation in software services which exited to Lucent for >$1 billion. He holds degrees in Chemistry from Stanford University and Management from MIT.
Tomasz H. Zastawny, PhD, DSc, MSc.

Dr. Zastawny is a clinical research professional and scientist with more than 20 years of proven achievements in international clinical research and corporate business management. As a strategic business partner, his expertise is in providing strategic clinical research counsel to drug development executives and teams of privately held and publicly traded life sciences companies. Prior to founding Executive Clinical Research Consulting, Dr. Zastawny was a Clinical Operations Director at Infinity Pharmaceuticals. Previously he was the Clinical Projects Director at Pro-Pharmaceuticals, Director of Operations at PRA International. As the Chairman of the Board for PRA’s Central and Eastern European subsidiary he contributed significantly to company growth in this region. Currently he is on the Supervisory Board of KCR S.A. a leading European R&D organization based in Poland. He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, book chapters and reviews on scientific symposia in international clinical research and mechanisms of carcinogenesis, and cancer therapy. Dr. Zastawny received his educational training at the interface of business and medical research. He has post graduate degrees in Business Management from Management and Banking School in Poznan, Poland as well as DSc in Biochemistry from the Polish Academy of Science, PhD in Medical Sciences from University of Medical Sciences in Bydgoszcz, and MS from University of Lodz. He did a doctoral fellowship at National Institute of Standards and Technology (USA) and Leiden University Medical Center (The Netherlands).
